"Meeting Frederick Staff several years ago I was amazed with his
command of varied flute tone colors, and huge volume range from fortissimo to pianissimo.
This prompted me to ask for some lessons, despite my more than 40 years of semi-professional, and full-time professonal, flute playing.
Frederick suggested an embouchure change, and despite some "old dog new tricks" misgivings, we forged
ahead.
I'm now pleased to say I have more available colors, more volume, and softer
softs than I ever dreamed could be possible for me. I'm totally delighted and grateful."
